 To delight mom on Mother’s Day!
Craft material- A malleable iron wire
- Self-hardening modeling clay or salt dough
- Pencil
- Paint brushes
- Paint
- Cutting pliers
- Bowl and water
This activity allows children to develop: - different sculpting techniques
- their manual dexterity
Instructions:- Take a piece of clay or dough and shape the body of the cat. Do the same for the head and the paws. Put the pieces together with your fingers and some water.
- Cut a length of wire of about 30 cm. Wrap it around a pencil twice to form the loop that‘ll hold the picture.
- Push in the wire (approx. 2cm) through the top of the cat’s head.
- Cut 6 little pieces of wire to make the cat’s whiskers.
- Sink the wires into the clay or dough.
- Let the figurine dry.
- Once it’s thoroughly dry, paint the figurine without forgetting to paint the details such as the eyes and the nose.
