  • Explore colors

Christmas card details
Craft materials
  • Red, yellow, blue finger paint
  • Rice, oatmeal, wheat cereals
  • A glass of water
  • Paper
  • A lead pencil
  • Glitter (optional)

Christmas card details
Step 1
  • Fold a sheet of paper in half to make a greeting card.
  • With the lead pencil, make a Christmas drawing on one side of the card.

P.S. It’s important to draw a picture that isn’t very detailed because it’s difficult to replicate it with finger paint.

Step 2
  • In a bowl, mix a small quantity of cereal with the paint. The ratio should be 2 parts paint to 1 part cereal. Add water (and glitter if so desired).
  • Mix with fingers until the cereal is the same color as the paint.

  • With your fingers, apply the cereal paint to the drawing.

what about using other objects besides food? maybe something that gives texture to the paper as well adn yoy wont have to worry about it molding like the food will.
