 In certain Germanic languages this celebration is named after the goddess Eostre -the Teutonic dawn goddess of fertility; her name was derived from the ancient word for spring: "eastre."
But in most predominantly Christian countries, the names are derived from the Hebrew name “Pessah” (Passover).
