The infant is observed by sheep and guarded by loving parents in an exquisite South American portrayal of the Holy Family. By placing the key protagonists in a raft shaped like a basket, the artist suggests the lineage with Moses of this newborn prophet who will be the Messiah. Alberto Aparicio Canchari and his wife sculpt and paint the figures by hand.
