Craft ideas for Valentine’s Day: Fanned Fish in a HeartFanned Fish in a Heart

A very special fish that will surely brighten your home!

Craft materials

•    1 sheet of red stiff paper
•    1 sheet of construction paper
•    Scissors
•    Strings
•    Color pencils
•    Glue

This activity allows children to:

•    Develop their fine motor skills and creativity.
•    Use different techniques such as folding and cutting.
•    Learn spatial awareness.

Instructions:

•    Fold the red paper in half, then draw two half-hearts, one smaller( about one centimetre) than the other.
•    Cut out the outside, then the inside of the heart.
•    On the construction paper, draw a fish shape that is smaller than the heart and cut it out. Add details to the fish with the color pencils.
•    Cut a strip of construction paper that is the width of the fish.
•    Cut the strip in half and make two fans.
•    Cut in half-circles.
•    Glue the half-circles on each side of the fish.
•    Make a small hole at the top of the fish, then a small hole in the heart. Tie them both with string.
•    You can also add little construction paper circles to the end of strings to make bubbles.

And there you have it!
